The maiden edition of NDC Volta Diapora Caucus Western North and Western Regional General meeting held on the 2nd August 2023 at Animens Hotel in Takoradi. A resounding call to action reverberated through the caucus General meeting, as prominent figures from the party and passionate minds gathered to chart a course towards a brighter future.
The occasion was graced by the National Coordinator Hon Basil Ahiable, Mr Godson Gadeabor (National Secretary), Mama Adeazordem (Founding Member), Mr. Simon K. Adom (Founding Member), Mr. Richard Mortey (Western Regional Coordinator), and Hon Alexander Yaw Hedidor(Western North Regional Coordinator). Also in attendance were some NDC Western Regional Executives including Mr. Samuel Borlu (Regional Vice Chairman) who was the Chairman for the occasion, Mr. Ralphael Setorwofia (Regional Deputy Secretary), Mr. Daniel Darlington Atitso (Regional Treasurer) and the seventeen (17) Constituency Coordinators in the Western Region and The Nine (9) Constituency Coordinators from the Western North Region.
The National Coordinator Hon Basil Ahiable in a keynote address, spoke about the need for the Caucus members to be united and support each as a people belonging to the same background. He advised members to eschew any form of “pull him down syndrome, backbiting and any acts that do not help the progress of any group or organization. He pledged that under his stewardship, the Volta Diapora Caucus wouldn’t be used as Election Machinery but also to make sure the members of the caucus are catered for in terms of human empowerment through skills training and other welfare supports are offered to members when the needs arise. He also urged members to fortify their resolve and actively engage in serving the party. In conclusion, he emphasised the significance of initiative and sacrifice as pivotal factors in the growth of the caucus to work harder in ensuring the victory of the NDC come 2024.
Mr. Samuel Borlu the Chairman for the occasion in his concluding remarks called for active involvement within constituencies and community political activities, fostering a spirit of inclusion and participation.
The Western North Regional Executives were then sworn in and and inaugurated and the program came to an end.
