It was a joyous and colourful moment over the weekend on Saturday July 29,2023 at the Madina Gospel Preparatory School in Accra at the launch of the annual Agorzaa festival by the people of Alavanyo Agoxoe in the Volta region.
The brief but important ceremony was graced by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for the Hohoe Constituency, Efo Worlanyo Tsekpo, opinion leaders and many other key personalities who hail from the area. This year’s Agorzaa festival which comes off on 30th September is geared towards promoting developmental projects with a particular focus on building an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) centre in the area.
Mr. Tsekpo, who was the chairman for the Agorzaa launch made a donation of Ghc5,000 to members of the Alavanyo Agoxoe Association to aid in preparations towards the festival. He also announced, to the applause of the natives, a sod cutting ceremony for the construction of boreholes in the Alavanyo Agoxoe area in the next few days. Mr. Worlanyo Tsekpo called on the people to unite and pursue the development of the Hohoe township. He encouraged his constituents present to eschew extreme partisanship which hinders welfare and progress of developmental efforts.
On his part, Mr. Nelson Dotse, a native of Agoxoe and vice chairman of the event, expressed delight at the success of the festival launch. He emphasized that the main objective of this year’s celebration shows the positive direction his traditional area is headed. According to him, the proposed ICT Centre will unlock several opportunities to the teeming youth in the Alavanyo Agoxoe area actualized.
Interesting and wishing my people well and also I will congratulate them for the good work done. Also my incoming MP efo walanyo Tsekpo for his contribution.
