The member of parliament for the Evalue Ajomoro Gwira constituency in the western region, Hon. Kofi Arko Nokoe has cut sod for the construction of an upgraded Nurses’ quarters. The nurses quarters which is situated at Apewosika, a suburb of Axim is aimed at solving health care givers in the Axim Government Hospital accommodation problems.
Nurses and other health personnel posted to Axim government hospital have been facing problems regarding conducive accommodation in a serene environment and also in the immediate catchment area of the hospital. These hospital staff resort to renting apartments that may be situated far away from the facility. This makes commuting to work a bit hectic especially during emergency situations.
During the groundbreaking ceremony, Hon. Kofi Arko Nokoe stressed on the importance of getting a befitting residence for health workers in the constituency. He stated that aside getting comfortable and conducive environment, the nurses would also have peace of mind to work and serve their clients in good faith whilst issues of rent would be totally eliminated.
The opinion leaders who flanked the MP also expressed satisfaction and thanked the MP for such a step. They also urged the MP to complete the edifice on time to serve its purpose. The MP after assuring the people donated one truck of sand for the commencement of the project.
