The Parliamentary Candidate for the Essikado Ketan Constituency on the ticket of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Western Region, Prof. Dr. Grace Ayensu Danquah has organized Free Health Screening and Free Cataract Surgery for the people in her Constituency. This is the 4th edition of this exercise within the last four (4) years.
The exercise was organized at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital (Interbeton) in the Central Region. She provided free transportation, accommodations and free food for all those who were involved. There was provision of buses that conveyed people from the Constituency; Fijai, Essikado, Ketan, Kojokrom and other communities in the Constituency to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital.
All those who were screened and were detected with cataract have been operated successfully and are currently responding to treatment at the hospital. “About thirty (30) people undertook the screening exercise today”, the Constituency Communication Officer for the Essikado Ketan NDC Mr. Matthew Kweku Adams told DFS Live News.
When DFS Live News Western Region Correspondent got to the hospital this morning, Dr Grace had this to say:
“This is the day the Lord has made. Let us be glad and rejoice in it. The screened persons will be leaving for surgery this morning and by the time we drop them off this evening, the miracle working God will do it again. The blind shall see.”
