The National Democratic Congress’ stakeholders of the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency received their share of the ongoing Greater Accra Regional Executive Committee’s Post Elections Conflict Resolution visit yesterday Wednesday 7th June 2023.
The post-elections Conflict resolution tour is targeted at reconciling the NDC’s rank and file of all constituencies in the Greater Accra Region. The regional Chairman, Hon. Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore, and his team are leaving no stone unturned going into the election 2024. They are sacrificing everything within their ability to make sure all lingering issues are resolved at all Great Accra constituencies.
The case of Ayawaso West Wuogon and Odododiodio constituencies are different from that of the rest of the constituencies in Greater Accra because they did not participate in the recent parliamentary primaries. The leadership of the NDC at the national level had to put the parliamentary primaries on hold in the two constituencies due to some internal issues. Meanwhile, the recent NDC presidential primaries went successfully in the two constituencies.
Some party internal issues and the recent suspension brouhaha of the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency chairman are some reasons why chairman Ashie Moore and his team visited the constituency. The constituency chairman was suspended for defying party rules and regulations to engage the media on internal party issues without exhausting the laid down procedures. The regional Chairman also used the opportunity to say a big thank you to the constituency executive Committee, ward coordinators, and the delegates of the constituency for their massive endorsement of former president John Mahama and his victory as the 2024 presidential candidate of the party. He conveyed how grateful the former president is for the gesture.
Some Greater Accra constituency Chairmen also attended the meeting to express their solidarity for their colleague chairman, Hon Bismark Ashitey and encourage him to be strong in the midst of his suspension brouhaha by the Regional executive committee.
The regional Chairman, Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore called on the various stakeholders of the constituency to remain calm as he immediately called for a review of the suspension of their constituency chairman.
