The National Democratic Congress (NDC) deputy women’s organizer in the Dome-Kwabenya Constituency of the Greater Accra region Ms. Patience Quaye, has provided a one-day training workshop for women across the ten (10) electoral areas of Ghana’s largest Constituency. The training which took place across two major centers from Friday to Saturday March 25 aiming to equip the women with some skills in baking, forms part of activities lined up to celebrate her birthday which was earlier this month.
Largely Branch executives and members of the opposition NDC, the women were drawn from all the ten electoral areas and across the various Branches (polling stations) in the constituency. Day one of the training took place on Friday at Agbogba where participants for the one-day event came from four electoral areas, namely Agbogba, Ablor Adjei, Abokobi and Haatso. On Saturday, women from Kwabenya, Dome East, Dome West, Taifa South and North electoral areas had their turn at the Dome Gym Centre. The participants were taken through the processes and recipes for making the available kinds of pastries.
In an interview with DFS Live News, Ms. Patience indicated that her satisfaction comes from the joy in the faces of the women who benefited from the training. “When I was going round for my campaign to be elected as the deputy women Organizer, I told the women that I’ll do my best to provide skills training programs for them to at least help some of them start something on their own. I’m very happy that we’re starting something together with this”, she noted. The participants expressed appreciation to the deputy women’s organizer for enrolling them on such a beneficial training program and assured that they would make use of the skills given them.
To show her commitment to the development of the women, she has handed over ten (10) Doughnut Maker Machines to the leaders of ten electoral areas to be used by the women in those areas.
