The Kwabenya East Ward of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Dome-Kwabenya Constituency of the Greater Accra region will on Saturday, October 15 organizes a fundraising event towards the welfare of its members as it prepares to win the parliamentary seat for the first time since its creation in 2004. The event, which is the first of its kind in the electoral area, seeks to draw key political figures, businessmen, party executives and financiers as well as members of the party within and outside the Constituency.
On the theme “winning power through togetherness” and under the auspices of the Kwabenya East Ward Welfare Association, the event aims at raising funds to cushion party faithfuls in trying moments and offer varying degrees of support to members to encourage and motivate them to remain resolute in their quest to annex the parliamentary seat in the crucial 2024 general elections.
Speaking to DFS Live News, the Coordinator for the Kwabenya East Ward, Hon. Wisdom Tademe underscored the need for a regulated welfare scheme for members which will go a long way to translate into electoral victories. “This fundraising is important because it will help start our Welfare scheme for our members where the amount realized from the event will be used as the seed capital for the project “, the NDC man noted. “Our members will be the ultimate beneficiaries with donations to bereaved members, marriages, naming ceremonies among others. The good thing is that the welfare scheme is going to be permanent and so it will not cease to function when my tenure of office comes to an end” Mr. Tademe assured members.
The event will take place at Ashongman Estate in the Sky High School on Saturday at 15:00. The Constituency Chairman, Isaac Nii Lante Lamptey, the Secretary Thomas Dodzi Tsoekeku, the Organizer, Edem Agbenyefia are among the Constituency Executives invited for the program. DFS Live News understands that the Planning Committee has a list of high-ranking regional officials as special guests for the program.
