Listen To Story
Thanks to the incompetent NPP headed by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Dr Bawumia, Ghc10 now cannot be used to prepare any substantial meals. A cup of rice which was once sold at Ghc1.20 under Mahama’s regime is now Ghc6.50, frytol in a plain rubber sold at Ghc0.50 is now Ghc3, a sachet of tomato paste which was Ghc0.40 is now Ghc1.50, one big size onion which used to be Ghc0.20 is now Ghc1.50 and with the smaller size, the least said about it, the better.
Needless to say, a family of 3 would be compelled to use not less than Ghc50 a day to prepare just breakfast.
Let’s use this family of 3 as a case study to further elaborate on the amount spent on a meal per day. Thus;
. . . 50 (Ghc) × 30(days)= Ghc 1500.00
it could be deduced that an amount of Ghc1500.00 was spent on solely meals by this family. One would question himself about the number of people that earn the above amount on monthly basis. Hmm! This is indeed a question for the gods. I also wonder what Ghana’s minimum wage is.
Furthermore, if your net salary is Ghc2000 and you spend Ghc1500 on food, how much of the difference will be used to pay bills (water, electricity, refuse, school fees, etc.) and miscellaneous?
In today’s Ghana, the property rate is almost half a million which is quite preposterous.
This country needs to work again. Therefore, we need serious-minded people like John Dramani Mahama with renewed mindsets to ensure this change ensues. 2024 should not just be a fight for the National Democratic Congress, but a fight for every one of the 1.8 million unemployed youth, the NABCO trainees who have been booted out without hope for tomorrow, and the over 500,000 national service personnel who have been asked to embark on a compulsory leave just because the government cannot afford to pay them.
This country needs a revolution and the youth of Ghana, 18Plus4NDC must arise for the country demands our devotion.
