
The leadership of the Greater Accra Ga-Dangbe Caucus of the opposition National Democratic Congress-NDC and elders of the Ga-Dangbe communities called on all natives of Ga-Dangbe to use this year’s Homowo festival to foster unity and peace among themselves.
Speaking to DFS Live News at the launch of the NDC WƆMBA project (the NDC is coming back) on Saturday 20th August 2022 at the Police Social and Fitness Centre in Accra, the chairman of the Caucus Hon. Daniel Annan said the NDC WƆMBA project is a project which seeks to increase the visibility of the party through the distribution of party paraphernalia to all as the party prepares for the next general elections.
The former minister further tasked the chiefs, elders, and natives of the Ga-Dangbe state to foster unity as they all reflect on activities in the past year and settle any pending disputes among themselves. In his welcome address, the chairman of the Ga-Dangbe caucus of the_ NDC called for unity among it’s members and assured all that the feast will be annual celebration and urged the caucus to be very proactive for the task ahead. He also stressed the need for the Ga-Dangbe people to love one another, as well as to promote peace and unity of purpose.
Speaking on behalf of the Guest speaker Former President John Dramani Mahama, Professor Joshua Alabi lauded the Ga-Dangbe people of the NDC on the strides they continue to make towards the organization and positioning of the NDC party in the Greater Accra Region and Ghana as a whole.
According to Prof. Alabi, the event is very dear to the heart of President John Dramani Mahama who wished to attend the event in person, however, other equally important programs took him out of the Region. He delivered the former president’s thank you message to the Ga-Dangbe Caucus for the massive support he and the National Democratic Congress enjoy and continued to enjoy over the years from them and hoped that such support will continue as we move into the 2024 general elections and that the party is solidly behind the caucus.
Top ranking members of the NDC and the Ga-Dangbe caucus who were present at the event include, Dr. Peter Boamah Otokunor, Her Excellency Madam Molly Anin Addo, Hon. Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo, Hon. Nii Lante Vanderpuye, Hon. Nii Osah Mills, Madam Mona Quartey, Hon. Lawyer Samuel Attuquaye Armah, Hon. Nii Amasa Namoale, Hon. Oko Vanderpuye, Hon. Sylvester Mensah, Hon. Theophilus Tetteh Chaie, Hon. Nii Djanmah Vanderpuye, Hon. Nii Armah Ashittey amongst others.
The NDC Regional and Constituency executives in Greater Accra were led by the Regional Chairman Mr. Joseph Kobina Ade Coker and Regional Secretary Hon. Theophilus Tetteh Chaie. Hon. Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, NDC’s national Director of Elections was also present.
The ceremony was graced by some Traditional Leaders of the Ga-Dangbe Areas. The Osu Wulomo Nuumo Gbelenfo sprinkled libation for ancestral blessings for the Ceremony.
Key speakers at the ceremony Congratulated the organizing committee members Hon. Atuquaye, Hon Logas, and many others. And also urged the leadership of the National Democratic Congress to recognize the Ga-Dangbe Caucus as such.
