
His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, former President of the Republic of Ghana has made a cash donation of GH¢110,000.00 towards the Kumasi Sofoline Mosque project over the weekend making a tremendous difference in the Muslim community. This benevolent gesture is not the first of its kind demonstrated by the former president.
The donations have an immense impact, empowering high-risk children and adults in religious groups to reach their full potential.
A statement monitored by the DFSLive News team on the former president’s Facebook page indicates that this donation was done as a result of an appeal from the leadership of the Mosque to enable them to secure the land on which the Mosque was situated.
It further stated that, the former President also pledged to support the planned renovation of the mosque, which was built by Ghana’s First President; Dr. Kwame Nkrumah; for Muslim soldiers who had returned from peacekeeping at the time.
Followers of the page were excited with some thank you messages to the former president. According to them, It is crystal clear that the former president’s regular and enthusiastic contributions are contagious and can inspire most people to also make a difference.
