Manchester City beat Aston villa 3-2 to win the 2021/2022 English Premier league title for the 4th time in 5 years under coach Pep Guardiola. The citizens had to come down from 2 goals to score 3 in a space of 5 minutes to be crowned Champions of England.
A brace from Gundogan and a goal from Rodri ensured the citizens ended the season with the league title at the expense of their rivals Liverpool who also beat Wolverhampton wanderers by 3-1. City topped the league with 93 points as against Liverpool’s 92 points.
In a related development, AC Milan won their first Serie A title in 11 years as they beat Sassuolo by 3-0 rendering their fiercest rivals Inter’s 3-0 home win to Sampdoria irrelevant. Milan were given minimal trouble by Sassuolo as they secured the 3 points they required to be crowned Champions of the Italian league, serie A.
