A leaked document confirmed to be the Will of the late former NPP general secretary, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie popularly known as Sir John has exposed the government in its handling of the Achimota Forest, the only green belt in the capital city of Accra. The Lands and Natural Resources minister, Hon Samuel Adbulai Jinapor earlier this week denied reports of government’s sale of the Achimota Forest insisting on only the declassification of the Forest reserve which reportedly carves out almost half (more than 40%) of the forest as no longer a reserve.

However, a leaked document sighted by DFS Live News reveals how a vast portion of the forest has been given to the former CEO of the Forestry Commission, Sir John. In the leaked document, the beneficiaries are to be allocated acres of lands in the Forest reserve which was acquired by the deceased few years ago as the head of Forestry Commission.

This confirms reports of high powered government officials involvements in grabbing of state lands in a Forest reserve that has been untouched for 92 years.
