Fix the country convener, Oliver Barker-Vormawor has alleged that Albert Donkor was abducted from his bed while sleeping and shot dead by criminals in the police service. Oliver Barker asserts that Albert Donkor had so many friends in the police service in the town and attends many events with them.
In a Facebook post on 22nd May 2022, Oliver shared a picture of Albert Donkor ”eating and drinking with the police in Nkoranza south”. “The guy had so many friends in the police in the town; and attends many events with them. So when he said he recognised the robbers as police officers from the town, he knew what he was talking about. He was abducted from his bed while sleeping and shot dead by criminals we have employed as our police force. This is cold blooded murder of a whistle blower. Nothing else”, he wrote.

The Nkoranza municipal police command claims that Albert Donkor was an armed robber who died in an exchange of gun fire with the police. The family of the late Albert has however refuted those claims saying Albert Donkor was picked up from his home by the police where he later died. His dead has led to disturbances in the community by the youth as they believe it is a calculated attempt by the police to cover up the rots in the service.
On Tuesday, May 17, the youth in the area went on a rampage and clashed with the police to demand justice for the deceased. During the clash, one person was confirmed dead with several others injured. The injured are currently receiving treatment at the St. Theresa’s Catholic hospital.
