The biggest Constituency in Ghana – Dome/Kwabenya Constituency has given an indication of how the absence of their member of parliament Hon. Sarah Adwoa Sarfo is militating against developmental works. The Constituency which was noted for much development under the Mahama administration has witnessed slow progress over the years when the NPP led Nana Addo and Bawumia took over. Speaking to DFS Live News, the Constituents highlighted various issues affecting them, most especially the absence of their MP – Hon. Sarah Adwoa Safo.Constituents want to know!!! Did the law really state that a seat can be declared vacant if an MP fails to show up in the House for 15 days?Dome/ Kwabenya member of Parliament, Hon. Sarah Adwoa Safo, who is the Minister for Gender and Social Protection, has been on leave for God knows how long. She has failed to resume her post and till date not even her Boss knows her whereabout.
On 22nd February 2022- The national chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Freddie Blay in his bid to defend the GHOST MP gave reasons for the continuous absence of the legislator from Parliament. Freddie Blay maintains that “Adwoa Sarfo took a leave of absence to address some health issues.”
Speaking to DFS Live News team, the constituents expressed much frustrations . It’s unfortunate that an MP who seeks for leave to address some health issues was found on TikTok dancing to the camera with a gospel music in the background.
Let’s not forget that the member of parliament represents people, the largest constituency in Ghana for that matter. She is there in Parliament to advocate our issues and implement government’s developmental agenda and so she owes Dome Kwabenya Constituents a duty.In other News dated 24th February 2022, Speaker of Parliament, Rt Hon. Alban Sumana Bagbin, has denied reports that he gave permission to the Dome Kwabenya MP, Sarah Adwoa Safo, to absent herself from the House, on health grounds. Anyway, is it that our MP still behaves like that grade one child who leaves the classroom without permission? Is our MP Sarah Adwoa Sarfo that arrogant? Why should we live in a Constituency without an MP for all these whiles? Where did we go wrong as Constituents who gave her the nod to lead the largest Constituency in Ghana? How can we live in a Constituency without an MP for almost a year and a half? Do we have laws working under the Leadership of the Human Right lawyer?Something Must be wrong somewhere!!We the good people of Dome Kwabenya Constituency call on Civil society organization, international bodies, religious leaders, etc. to speak up as the Constituency keeps deteriorating every now and then….
